If you grew up in the 80's watching such shows as Fraggle Rock, Sesame Street, and The Muppet Show, then you were among what I consider a blessed generation that had a firsthand look at watching Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and David Goelz's masterful creations: The Muppets. These talented individuals, along with songwriters such as Joe Raposo, Paul Williams, and Kenneth Ascher, manage to bring a smile to my face every time I see the fruits of their labor come to life.
Here are two of my favorite songs of all time. "Bein' Green" (2.05MB) ©2002 The Jim Henson Company, as sung by Kermit the Frog (Jim Henson), is a fantastic tribute to the realization that being yourself is truly a wonderful thing. And while embarking on a wonderfully entertaining journey with Fozzie the Bear (Frank Oz), he and Kermit sing a great upbeat song about being out on the open road together- aptly titled "Movin' Right Along" (2.72MB) ©2002 The Jim Henson Company. Note: These downloads are only to be used to let you see if you want to buy the CD they are on (see below), and are in no way intended to be kept for more than 24 hours if you do not already own a copy. Give them a listen, and tell me these guys weren't masters of their domain!
